Capturing beautiful and natural maternity photography can be both fun and light on the cheese. Having really nice photos of your family while your expecting is a great way to both celebrate the occasion and capture some natural and candid moments before baby arrives.

Children offer great opportunities to be candid. Becoming a big brother or big sister is exciting stuff! Big changes are coming and they will soon no longer be your sole focus. During a family maternity session I encourage families to feel at ease. Laugh at them, laugh at yourselves, laugh at me, and be silly. Durham Region maternity photography available in studio, in home, or on location. Maternity photography can be done anytime your bump starts to show but I find it's best between 32-36 weeks. Maternity sessions are my favourite when outdoors and during sunset or the late evening light. Details and connections are my focus for candid natural photography. On location, outdoors or in your own home can be really helpful if you have energetic toddlers. Sessions with toddlers are always best when they are comfortable with the environment and have some space to be playful. This is a great choice to make the most of you maternity photography.

In home sessions using the babies nursery, a bedroom and the naturally lit areas of your home offer a natural and simple background for beautiful lifestyle maternity photography. Home is a place that holds so much love, connection and memories. It's a great choice for a maternity session and I encourage couples to consider this as a great option when thinking about doing a maternity session. In studio is another option that may work well for some, depending on the time of year or age of siblings, a studio sessions is another great option for excited couples to celebrate this very special occasion.
